The Lord’s Prayer says, “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”
We are to pray for God to keep us from the evil one. James said the devil comes like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may destroy.
When Jesus was in the garden of Gethsemane, He and His disciples had a prayer meeting. On three occasions Jesus found Peter asleep. He said, “Watch and pray, that you enter not into temptation” (Matthew 26:41).
I often have wondered what would have happened if Peter had not slept, but prayed. He would have never denied Christ. If you will pray on a daily basis, Jesus will protect you from sin.
